In 12/08/2014, the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with Intel,Viet Nam Education Publishing House, for the first time, presented “Modern classrooms using new generation Classbook” for secondary school Quang Lich, Quang Lich commune, Kien Xuong district,Thai Binh province.
Classrooms in Quang Lich, Thai Binh with 45 digital textbooks Classbook is the first result of a series of efforts to implement the commitment of Intel and its partners accompanying the program “Computers For Life” launched by MIC to serve the education reform policy of the educational development strategy 2011-2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
As planned, in 2014, Intel will provide five classrooms equipped with tablet and interactive software solution accompanied. Specifically, in quarter 3/2014, followed by Thai Binh, two more pilot classrooms will also be presented to two schools in Nghe An and Gia Lai. By quarter 4/2014, Intel will continue to present the remaining two classrooms. Reportedly, the total number of machines for this program promises to be more than the committed number of 100 devices as previously announced with MIC. This is a major effort of Intel and other partners such as Vietnam Education Publishing House, Tinhvan Technologies JSC,etc to provide Vietnamese children with further opportunities to access ICT.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Thao Nguyen – Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Information and Communication appreciated the contribution of Intel Vietnam and its partners to accompany the program “Computers for life”. This event has provided the teachers and students in secondary school Quang Lich with the opportunity of access to modern, intelligent, highly interactive, learning tools to help to change mind, change the teaching and learning method toward a more efficient manner.
After the ceremony, all guests and teachers attended a sample lesson of history for 9th grade with new generation teaching and learning equipment Classbook. Not only containing full information as a traditional history textbook, Classbook also integrates multimedia content such as historical images and documents, diagrams, illustrating video clips,.. to help students feeling more excited about school and acquire knowledge more effectively.

Ms. Phi Van Hoa – the history teacher, who directly had taught the sample lesson said: “Digital textbook Classbook helps students to have the opportunity of access to a more vivid and visual lesson, as following battlecharts, documentary relating to historical events in the lesson, etc. Compared with traditional textbooks, students become more interested in acquiring knowledge faster and remember longer. I hope the application of digital textbook Classbook will soon be replicated on a national scale for further improvement of the quality of teaching and learning.”
