A ceremony was held on October 13 to launch the FUNiX Online University for the mission of connecting enterprises’ demands and students’ capacity. FUNIX signed the Minutes of Cooperation with Tinh Van and FPT Software at the launching ceremony. Accordingly, the enterprises will participate in the process of coursebooks selection and approval, provide direct mentor to support students during their learning process, ensuring the output and recruitment of students.

Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of FUNIX, realizes that IT is the future and mastering IT skills is necessary as learning a foreign language at the current stage. And in the near future, IT education is not only for professionals but workers, farmers, office workers … also need to know IT to raise their working productivity.

It is this perspective that produced FUNIX – an IT online training college under FPT’s Education Division. While online learning model is not new, but learning with mentoring is the most prominent point of FUNIX. “The Soul” of FUNIX is the mentors (roughly translated: The tutors). “Mentor is the person being paid to spend his time and effort to support students during the learning process,” said Nguyen Thanh Nam, Director of FUNIX.

FUNIX focuses on a new training method: “You ask, Google answers”, “Taking note everywhere! Ask if you do not know. Do not be low self-esteem”. Students will have opportunities to use an open source of classbooks by experts and the best IT colleges that are available on the network provided by FUNIX.

During the studying process, students will contact the school to seek for feedback of any problem by connecting with 24/24h mentoring support system. The “learning by asking” not only helps students understand the problems but also is the basis for assessing their learning outcomes. According to Nam, 80% of the studying results are presented during the course, asking good questions and, focusing on right issues is also recorded.

The opening ceremony of FUNIX gets the attention of FPT’s leaders, IT professionals, parents and students.

Besides online interacting, the University will organize a monthly offline meeting on dedicated topics between mentors and students. Through interaction with the mentors, the student will be able to reduce his time on studying unnecessary things and focus on proper knowledge which serves their studying. At the same time, IT professionals also “choose” suitable candidates for their companies. “Students can graduate after 2 years if you learn quickly and then go to work immediately after receiving the first certificate”, the Head of FUNIX stated.

The online training program will be divided into eight semesters, each semester last for four months, the course fee is 90 million dong. In eight semesters, students will learn in turns the knowledge necessary for his career including: Digital Population, Mobile Applications Programming, Business Applications Programmer, Proficiency in IT working environment, Basic Software Engineer, Proficiency in business environment, Information System Expert, Software Engineering Degree.

After each semester, students will receive a certificate affirming the capacity of doing the respective job. After completing the program, students will become IT engineers with the University Degree recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Anyone who wants and is willing to pursue the career of programming in particular and IT in general just need a certificate and working early can enroll with no limit on age and time. To receive a university degree, the candidate must meet the input requirements from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Having newly launched but FUNIX gets the response from the group’s leaders, enterprises, students and parents.
