A new and modern library of Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been officially put into use. This is a multipurpose library with many books, reading rooms, spacious study area, self-study area, gymnasium and a system of diverse book references.

Currently, the library’s resources have about 11,484 books / 51,884 copies, more than 50 newspapers and magazines updated daily and added continuously throughout the year. Not only does the library add more books and periodicals yearly but it also builds an electronic document bank by digitizing databases in Vietnamese and foreign languages in order to meet the needs of students, lecturers and school staff.

Specially, In order to manage the library and look up publications, Nguyen Tat Thanh University uses Libol 5.0 software of Tinh Van Group.

The documents are scientifically organized as Dewey decimal classification helping students, lecturers and staff easily to find. A wide range of materials in all major are available at the university: Health, Economics, Engineering, Technology, Sociology – Humanities and Arts. Moreover, the library also concentrates on adding more documents to develop soft skills for students.

The library connected with some libraries in Ho Chi Minh City such as: the Library of the Institute of Social Sciences, General Sciences Library, Library of the University of Technology and Education, the Library of the College of Constructions No. 2, etc.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has diverse domestic and international online databases and a wide range of Wi-Fi system. In addition, the university has a spacious, quiet and qualified – standards area which is divided into many smaller areas to help students and teachers to use comfortably. Therefore, students, lecturers or staffs can have more chances to think creatively and develop many ideas for learning and research.

The library opens from 7:30 to 17:00 (Monday to Friday); 7h30 to 11h30 (Saturday). There are many comfortable and relaxed “lazy” chairs equipped in the self- study room for students. The self-study area plays an important role in students’ self-learning by encouraging their initiative and self-conscious spirit. Moreover, it is a perfect place for the youth to exchange and share experiences in learning as well as daily life.

Information Center of the Library in Nguyen Tat Thanh University also helps young people to improve physical fitness. The multipurpose gymnasium is designed in an airy space, fully equipped with modern and qualified standard equipment such as electric running machines, electric bicycles and abdominal exercise machines.

Inside the library, there is a modern conference room, fully equipped with sound system, projectors for students to organize extra-curricular activities such as seminars, presentations … to practice soft skills.

Beside Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Libol has also been used in many large libraries nationwide such as Ho Chi Minh General Science Library; Hanoi Library; Library of the National Assembly Office; HCMC University of Pedagogy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Da Lat University, National Economics University.
