On June 21, 2012, the General Assembly on establishing members and specialized branches of library associations takes place at National Scientific and Technological Information Department. Tinhvan Techologies (Tinhvan Group) is admitted to become an official member of the Vietnam Library Association (VLA).

Attending the meeting are Dr. Ta Ba Hung, Director of National Scientific and Technological Information Department, former Vice Chairman of VLA; Mr. Pham The Khang – Chairman of VLA;  Dr. Vu Duong Thuy Nga – Deputy Director of Library Department, vice chairman of VLA; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuan – Former Chairman of VLA; Mr. Pham Van Vu – Vice Chairman of National Scientific and Technological Information Department ; Mr. Pham Thuc Truong Luong, Tinhvan Group’s Vice Chairman in charge of Product, International Relations and Quality Management along with more than 200 delegates from nearly 100 specialized librabry and information angencies nationwide.

Granting Tinhvan Group with decision of admission to VLA

At the Assembly, Dr. Le Van Viet reads out loud the decision of establishment of members and branches of library associations in Vietnam. Mr. Pham The Khang and Ms. Vu Duong Thuy Nga have granted the decision of member admission to TinhVan Group.

In a speech on current situation of the storing and management of records and publications in the library, Mr. Pham Thuc Truong Luong refers to a “hot” issue to the library community, which is the digitalisation of materials/documents to ensure their longevity as well as maintain continuous access to those documents.

Accordingly, along with the development of Internet and advanced technologies, preservation of documents is a task to be faced with by staff librarians in the coming years. Preservation of digital materials will be an optimal preservation solution to the documents in the library sector.
