Classbook reaches ethnic minority students

On January 28, 2015, within the framework of the "Computers for Life" program, the Ministry of Information and Communications, Intel Vietnam, the Educational E-book Joint Stock Company, the Education Publishing House, and the Department of Information and Communications of Thai Nguyen province organized a ceremony to donate a modern classroom using Classbook electronic textbooks to Van Lang Secondary School for Ethnic Minority Boarding Students, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Phan Thao Nguyen – Director of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Information and Communications; Mr. Vu Quoc Thanh – Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Thai Nguyen province; representatives of the Educational E-book Joint Stock Company under the Vietnam Education Publishing House, Intel Vietnam, and the Department of Education and Training of Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Thao Nguyen and Mr. Vu Quoc Thanh emphasized the significance of the "Computers for Life" program in bridging the digital divide between regions. The Classbook electronic textbook will serve as a convenient and useful teaching and learning tool, facilitating the application of innovative teaching methods and contributing to improving education quality. They also expressed gratitude to the Educational E-book Joint Stock Company and Intel for accompanying the information and communications sector in popularizing computers, the internet, and IT applications across the country, and shared joy with the teachers and students of Van Lang Secondary School for gaining access to new, modern teaching and learning tools. They hope the school will use Classbook effectively in the learning process, striving for good teaching and good learning.

For the first time, students of Van Lang Secondary School experience a new learning method with the Classbook electronic textbook

Right after the ceremony, a sample lesson using the Classbook electronic textbook was applied for 9th-grade Literature at Van Lang School. For most students, this was their first exposure to a completely new learning method. With multimedia data designed and fully edited on each page, simple and intuitive operation, learning and expanding knowledge becomes easier than ever.

Van Lang Secondary School is located in a particularly difficult highland commune. The school has 6 classes with 184 boarding students, 70% of whom are ethnic minorities. The proportion of students from poor and near-poor households accounts for 71%. The donation of multifunctional teaching and learning equipment is of great significance to the school, helping to improve the effectiveness of lessons there.

Classbook is Vietnam's first electronic textbook, developed and published by the E-book Joint Stock Company under the Education Publishing House and Intel.
