Phu Luu Te Secondary School Students Experience Classbook Digital Textbooks

On October 25, Rolls-Royce Vietnam presented an interactive Classbook classroom, including 18 tablets pre-installed with electronic textbooks from the Education Publishing House, to Phu Luu Te Secondary School in My Duc, Hanoi.

Phu Luu Te Secondary School is located in the most disadvantaged area of My Duc district, on the outskirts of Hanoi, where most residents rely on farming. The school, serving 300 students and over 40 teachers, has deteriorating facilities and faces many limitations. However, in recent years, the school's academic movement has made remarkable progress. Its students consistently win prizes in district and city-level competitions for gifted students and have a very high high school graduation rate.

Although initially unfamiliar with using technological devices, after guidance, the students quickly adapted to the learning method in the interactive Classbook classroom. During the presentation, school leaders and many guests attended a history and an English lesson with 9A1 students. With this new learning tool, students can easily absorb knowledge through a lively reference system illustrated with various formats such as videos, audio, graphics, and maps. These features make knowledge acquisition, especially self-study, more intuitive and engaging.

Teachers and students at Phu Luu Te Secondary School showed great interest in this teaching and learning method. Students easily discussed, worked in groups, and did exercises directly on their devices. Ms. Thanh, a History teacher, shared: "Now I have a library of lessons with more vivid materials, and above all, I feel my students are more engaged throughout the learning process, actively reviewing lessons and competing with each other. I will definitely redesign my lessons to allow them to interact more."

Notably, the students' devices are connected to the teacher's computer, allowing the teacher to manage the class and incorporate new, effective, and lively teaching methods and content into the lesson. Through direct interactions on the tablet system and with the support of projection equipment, teachers at Phu Luu Te Secondary School can monitor each student's learning progress in class, as well as share materials, assignments, and tests with students in both directions. Moreover, teachers can easily pose questions during different parts of the lesson, thereby verifying students' comprehension and the quality of the lecture.

Mr. Pham Thuc Truong Luong, Director of the Electronic Textbook Company, the developer of the Classbook electronic textbook solution, stated: "We hope this interactive classroom will help bridge the digital divide in learning between students in Phu Luu Te and those in other areas of the capital."

Alongside the donation of the interactive Classbook classroom, representatives from Rolls-Royce and guests also participated in extracurricular activities with the students, helping raise awareness about environmental protection, such as mural painting, planting trees, and reusing old items to build a play area.
