EDC Introduces Classbook at International Conference

“Innovation and modernization of curriculum and textbooks towards sustainable development” was the theme of the conference organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with Vietnam Education Publishing House on the morning of October 30 in Hanoi.
The conference attracted the attention of leading experts in the field of textbook compilation and publishing, as well as many domestic and international education managers. Notably, international experts such as Professor Mike Horsley, President of the International Association for Research on Textbooks and Educational Media, professors from Sweden, Ukraine, the Netherlands, UNESCO, etc., attended. The Director of the Educational Electronic Book Joint Stock Company (EDC), Mr. Pham Thuc Truong Luong, also participated in the event and delivered a presentation on “Research on the model of implementing electronic textbooks in Vietnam”.

During the discussion, four main topics were of interest to the speakers: Directions for innovation and modernization of general education textbooks; development, use of textbooks and electronic learning materials; building and developing new and modern textbook models; evaluation and use of textbooks in modern general schools, aiming to research and develop textbooks for the renewal of general education curriculum after 2015.

Also at the conference, the exhibition booth of the Classbook electronic textbook product attracted the attention of many guests and was evaluated as an inevitable development trend of modern education. Officially launched in June 2013, Classbook is the first electronic textbook product in Vietnam introduced to the public. Not only proving its advancement and suitability for the textbook innovation roadmap in Vietnam, Classbook is also expected to contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning in general schools in the future. The Classbook version for teachers will be officially introduced around the end of this November.
