On the evening of December 5, 2014, at the award ceremony of the mobile application programming contest – “Hoi Tu 2014”, Tinh Van Technology Joint Stock Company, together with the Vietnam Internet Association, awarded the third prize for Completed Idea to the “Steps to Laugh” project by a group of 4th graders from Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Cau Giay, Hanoi). At the same time, Tinh Van Incubator – a unit of Tinhvan Group – will directly guide the student group in implementing the project, turning the idea into a complete product.
Launched in August 2014, the “Hoi Tu 2014” contest attracted widespread attention and participation from many individuals and groups of authors across the country. Summarizing the contest, although it was organized for the first time, more than 132 entries were submitted for both categories: Completed Idea and Completed Product. Among the award-winning products and ideas this year, the “Steps to Laugh” application by the group of 4th graders from Hanoi created many pleasant surprises for the program's judging panel.
Mr. Phan Quang Minh – Communications Director of Tinhvan Group, together with Mr. Vu Hoang Lien – Chairman of the Vietnam Internet Association, presented the award to the representative of the author group of the “Steps to Laugh” idea, which won the third prize for “Completed Idea” at the Hoi Tu 2014 contest.
With a very simple, innocent yet highly humane idea: “Ways to make you happy every day”, the students, along with their homeroom teacher and mentor, produced the most detailed sketch for their contest entry. Accordingly, this product will be designed to help users relax, feel happy, and enjoy interesting surprise moments. When accessing the application, users will be exposed to entertainment content such as: jokes, funny video clips, quizzes, images with humorous captions, and unexpected situations (users interact according to the application's instructions). These contents are randomly updated from the application's rich content library. It is expected that the amount of content provided at the launch of the application will include: 300 jokes, 300 funny clips, 100 quizzes, 300 images with humorous captions, and 100 unexpected situations.
The difference and creativity of this product compared to many other entertainment content sources on websites or mobile devices lies in its ability to select content suitable for user characteristics. By building an algorithm that uses parameters to analyze certain attributes related to the user, the application will provide the most appropriate content to the user's preferences and entertainment needs. Besides creativity, this application by the students also ensures the healthy nature of the entertainment content. The product is designed to prevent users from being bothered by advertisements and especially to avoid information security risks when being lured by harmful viruses or accompanied by harmful content.
In terms of technology, this application will use Unity Engine to facilitate design and development with rendering tools (graphics output) for 2D or 3D images, physics tools (for calculating and detecting collisions), sound, source code, animation, artificial intelligence, data processing threads, memory management, and network connectivity.
