On October 6, Tinh Van Education Joint Stock Company officially launched the Libol Digital & Bookworm project for the Library and Information Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
This is a large-scale project applied to the entire digital library system of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Accordingly, Libol Digital & Bookworm will be implemented simultaneously to address the issues of borrowing and returning, digitizing thousands of library document catalogs, and managing textbooks, projects, books, etc., of the Library and Information Center.
Specifically, each user (including faculty and students) will be provided with an account to automatically search, borrow, and return digital documents within the digital library system. When the borrowing period expires, books will be automatically removed from the user's account. Librarians will have administrative rights to add or remove digital document categories or users without needing to chase after book/document returns or worry about lost books/documents as in traditional library management.
Another outstanding feature of the system is that it overcomes the shortage of available books. The digital library will always have sufficient reference materials for all users, eliminating the situation where books are all borrowed out, leaving later users with nothing to borrow.
The digital library system also offers many other convenient features: it can be used anytime, anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection, and can be accessed on devices ranging from desktop computers to laptops and especially smart mobile devices. Additionally, to ensure security and prevent copyright infringement, each account is only allowed to access from a single device.
The project will be implemented over a period of 3 months and put into use in 2017.
