On the morning of December 2, the Run for Children 2012 – formerly the Terry Fox Run – took place at Thong Nhat Park and around Thien Quang Lake. This was the 12th year the event was held and also the 4th consecutive year Tinh Van Group participated as a sponsor.
According to the organizing committee, despite the cold and rainy weather, an estimated over 10,000 people joined the Run this year. The total amount donated by organizations and individuals in Hanoi reached 1.18 billion VND.
All of this money will be used for cancer treatment and heart surgery for pediatric patients at the National Children's Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, and the heart surgery program of the Vietnam Heartbeat Fund in 2012.
The Run for Children is a friendly charity sports event organized by the Canadian Embassy, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, the Vietnam – Canada Friendship Association, and the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations.
The program aims to inspire compassion and noble deeds among the people of Hanoi, businesses, and international friends studying and working in Vietnam to raise funds for children in difficult circumstances being treated at Hanoi Heart Hospital, the National Children's Hospital, and the Vietnam Heartbeat Fund.
Tinh Van Group is proud to have accompanied the Run for Children for the past 4 years, contributing a small part to the community charity activities that the program has been and will continue to carry out.
