Support for ISO 27001 Recertification Assessment

On the morning of May 24, 2013, at the headquarters of the Information Technology Department – Ministry of Information and Communications, a tripartite contract signing ceremony took place regarding consulting support for enterprises in assessment and obtaining ISO 27001 certification between the Management Board of IT Industrial Projects, D.A.S Vietnam Certification Co., Ltd., and Tinh Van Technology Joint Stock Company (Tinh Van Group). This contract is part of the package “Consulting support for enterprises in assessment and obtaining ISO 27001 certification (Package No. 1)” under the project “Supporting enterprises in building and applying production processes according to CMMI standards.”
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen – Deputy Director of the IT Project Management Board – representative of the Investor; Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang – Director of D.A.S Vietnam Certification Co., Ltd. – representative of the Consulting Contractor; Mr. Nguyen Son Tung – Deputy General Director of Tinh Van Group – representative of the enterprise participating in the project, along with representatives of Misa Joint Stock Company and GMO Runsysterm Joint Stock Company.

Accordingly, the IT Project Management Board will partially fund D.A.S Vietnam to carry out assessment and recertification activities in accordance with ISO 27001 standards for Tinh Van Group. The contract will be implemented within a maximum of 12 months from the effective date, but no later than September 30, 2014.
The project “Supporting enterprises in building and applying production processes according to CMMI standards” is implemented by the IT Project Management Board over 5 years from 2010 to 2014, targeting enterprises and organizations involved in website and software design, digital content, and IT services. According to regulations, participating enterprises receive support in building, applying, and assessing to achieve CMMI certification. To enhance project effectiveness, in 2012, the IT Project Management Board, especially in the field of web and software design, proposed and received government approval to expand the project scope to support enterprises in implementing ISO 27001 standards on information security.
ISO 27001 is a standard for assessing an enterprise's information security management system, developed based on the BS-7799 information security standards of the British Standards Institution. It specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system. Tinh Van Group officially obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification issued by DAS/UKAS – United Kingdom on September 29, 2010.
