Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen stated that the information security management system according to ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is very important for organizations and enterprises in general, especially for software and digital content companies in particular, at a time when the world assesses the information security level of Vietnamese IT enterprises as still very weak. Currently, the number of enterprises in Vietnam holding this certificate is not large. The Ministry of Information and Communications has supported enterprises in various ways: providing consultancy/assistance during the construction and evaluation process, and organizing training courses.
Tinhvan Group was first granted the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate in 2010 and has continuously passed surveillance assessments in subsequent years. This certificate award is the result of the periodic reassessment conducted every three years. In this reassessment period, the project “Consulting and Supporting Enterprises in Assessment and Obtaining ISO 27001 Certificate” of the Ministry of Information and Communications provided partial financial support. The project “Consulting and Supporting Enterprises in Assessment and Obtaining ISO 27001 Certificate” aims to assist enterprises in implementing an Information Security Management System according to ISO/IEC 27001:2005 with the following content: Consulting on trial assessment according to ISO 27001; Consulting on training internal assessment teams according to ISO 27001; and Consulting on developing assessment plans and conducting formal assessment according to ISO 27001.
ISO 27001 is a standard for evaluating enterprise information security systems, built and developed based on the information system security standards BS-7799 of the British Standards Institution, specifying requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system.
