At the start of the 2015-2016 school year, Viet Anh International Bilingual Secondary and High School in Ho Chi Minh City introduced Classbook digital textbooks school-wide to replace paper textbooks in teaching and learning activities, simultaneously transforming traditional classrooms into interactive learning environments, making lessons more dynamic and engaging.
This is the first school in Ho Chi Minh City to decide to deploy Classbook digital textbooks comprehensively after a period of thorough testing. With this new learning tool, teachers and students enter the school year with significant changes in classroom teaching and learning methods. Master Nguyen Manh Duong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viet Anh School, stated: “One of the most successful programs tested during the 2014-2015 school year and implemented across the entire Viet Anh School in the 2015-2016 school year is Classbook. By introducing Classbook and interactive classrooms school-wide, we hope to provide students with new knowledge through a system of reference materials and illustrations in various formats such as websites, videos, pictures, diagrams, and maps, which are continuously updated. With the Classbook system, our teachers can interact with all students in the class, ask questions during each part of the lesson, thereby verifying students’ comprehension and the quality of the lecture. Classbook also opens a hinge interactive solution to continue using and applying advanced teaching technologies, which will continue to be developed in the future.”

With Classbook, students can explore additional multimedia content such as listening to songs, stories, or English pronunciation samples; watching videos illustrating experiments or natural and social phenomena; interacting with simulation applications and virtual experiments; and doing exercises and tests in multiple-choice format. These features make learning, especially self-study, more visual and interesting.
The most distinctive feature of Viet Anh School’s new classroom model is the interaction between teachers and students, as well as maximizing the advantages of tablet devices with the interactive content that the digital textbook set can provide.
In the interactive classroom environment, students’ Classbooks are connected to the teacher’s computer, allowing the teacher to control the class and incorporate effective and engaging new teaching methods and content into the lesson.
Through direct interactions on Classbook and with the support of projection equipment, Viet Anh School teachers can monitor each student’s learning process in class, as well as share materials, exercises, and tests with students in both directions. These activities save teachers a lot of time while students truly become the center of the learning process. Teacher Tran Thi Tho – Math teacher at Viet Anh School, shared: “Learning with Classbook and the interactive classroom makes students more excited. It creates excellent interaction between teachers and students, helps students share their data and knowledge, and helps teachers monitor and manage students and share their lectures. This is a model where students can compete with each other, providing a basis for them to fully develop their talents.”
Teachers can monitor students’ activities through the Classbook device
Viet Anh School students show enthusiasm and activeness in the learning process when the whole class is connected through the Classbook interactive classroom. They can easily discuss, work in groups, and do exercises right on their devices. Supplementary learning applications with interactive functions make lessons more visual, and students are more active in class, whether it is a foreign language, science, or math lesson. According to student Le Quang Dang, class 10B1: “I feel very excited to use modern technology in the classroom learning process, not having to carry many books, learning is more interesting because I can observe more, and exchange information with teachers and friends more easily.”
